Welcome to BentFX.com.

BentFX is an open source graphics project dedicated to creating the next generation of 3D modelers. A 3D modeler that is not only free for public use, but also easily programable to enable a future library of addon tools, objects and effects. BentFX is currently in the planning stages, and seeking team members to engage in all facets of ensuring it will be the benchmark, that other consumer level graphics products seek to emulate.

Initially BentFX will support sudivision polymeshes, which allows smooth flowing shapes from simple meshes. It will also have solid support for 'pie' objects as illustrated here. The pie object allows editing on a circular, or star shaped object, and all edits are repeated around the pie. No matter how you slice it, people like pie!

Many aspects of BentFX are still in the conceptual stages, yet one design goal is paramount... It will be a program that is powerful, fun, and simple. Whether the user is looking to create models for use in presentation graphics, or if they're simply doodling, it should be a pleasure to use.
